Ex tennis player turned artist
I’m a slave to my dreams.
They motivate me every morning and help me refine my craft. I literally cannot sit still, I believe that if you think about things too much you’ll never do anything. You can’t fight with yourself… trust in what you do, your instincts and just nurture it.
I must get my energy from my previous life. You wouldn’t guess now, but I used to be a tennis player. A lot of that life has transferred into my life as a painter.
My process is very physical, using big strokes and moving the canvas around to focus my mind. Focus is the same in both disciplines. You spend a lot of time on your own and you’re forced to really look within, to find out what you’re all about. Not everyone can do it.
Making the decision to switch careers wasn’t easy. My parents said I should do what I feel passionate about but tennis came more easily to me. I wasn’t until later I realised that it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I’m so glad I made the change when I did.
IT’S IMPORTANT TO MAKE CHANGE, BE BOLD AND NEVER AFRAID.
Now I can dream about retiring, painting on the beach with my shirt off while sipping on a Grolsch.
We’ve been brewing a premium pilsner with real substance since 1842. A naturally green hop aroma, a crisp finish and a clean, confident bitterness from the combination of two Hallertau hops: Emerald and Magnum.
