Transformational speaker & poet
We met Randell for an early morning walk, in one of Toronto’s many parks that he loves.
Nearly dying can really change a guy. It changed me. Maybe the old me did die and a new me formed, that’s what it felt like.
After waking up from the attack, I was so grateful, I wanted to do more and be better. It feels like the world has given me a second chance. A chance to help people find themselves, whether that be with my art, poetry or coaching. It’s my destiny.
I look up to Nelson Mandela in that same sense. He went through so much adversity but found a way to make it transform him. There are many influential figures in my life, my mother who sacrificed so much to get me where I am. The teachers from my school in Scarborough that saw potential in me, even when I didn’t see it in myself. Finally, I’m making them proud.
My fight comes from my faith in humanity. Every time someone surprises me with an act of kindness or unselfishness it makes it all worthwhile.
SPEND TIME WITH YOURSELF, ALONE. THAT HELPS YOU GET TO KNOW WHO YOU REALLY ARE.
I spend a lot of time with people through my work, so it’s important that I give myself time to replenish. Everyone should do it. Sit with yourself in the beauty and rawness of who you are. It reminds me to slow down and just… be. A tree doesn’t think about growing, it just grows. I want to live like that, moving peacefully and around objects with grace.
We’ve been brewing a premium pilsner with real substance since 1842. A naturally green hop aroma, a crisp finish and a clean, confident bitterness from the combination of two Hallertau hops: Emerald and Magnum.
